Congratulations – to Stephen Clement who succeeded against the odds to win the 2011 Design for Lockwood – Key to the Key Competition.
The brief for this year’s prize, awarded by ASSA ABLOY’s iconic Lockwood brand, was to present an innovative new design to the simple key head – with the notion of changing the way we use keys, now and in the future. The theme encouraged entrants to consider trends which were not only innovative but also sustainable.
Entries were judged on functionality, usage, relevance and design.
The winning entrant presented an innovative and stylish design concept, born of a keen sense for future requirements. Lindsay Orford, National Sales Manager with ASSA ABLOY Australia and member of the judging panel said, “Stephen’s winning design captured the essence of the competition, producing a truly innovative insight into the future potential of keying systems”.
In addition to being titled the 2011 Design for Lockwood competition winner, Stephen also received an all expenses paid trip to Hong Kong!
This year’s finalists all demonstrated an impressive depth of creativity whilst maintaining a strong adherence to the competition theme and the judging criteria. Choosing the winner was a difficult process for the judging panel. Well done to all who entered.
